Tekseries® fabrics

Tekseries® fabrics are technical textiles designated for autumn and winter and mainly dedicated to the world of cycling.

Most of the collection consists of multi-layered fabrics featuring the presence of tek series® membrane, which provides optimized breathability and thermal insulation, along with waterproof and windproof properties.

Thanks to multi-layered fabrics, technology protects from cold weather by creating a layer of thermal insulation between your skin and the outside.

In multi-layered fabrics, the heat produced by human body is retained between the membrane, forming the intermediate layer, and the layer of fabric in contact with the body.

The thicker the layer, the higher the level of thermal insulation offered and the ability to keep your body warm and protected.

This characteristic, in combination with the windproof and breathable properties of the membrane, stops cold air from passing through clothes and lets excessive heat to escape from the inside. This helps to preserve the body microclimate and keep it comfortable.

Tek Series fabrics are designed to be suitable to any weather condition.

Thanks to in-house research laboratories and production, the company can easily test and develop innovative fabrics and offer unique solutions, along with lightweight and windproof materials.

The technology implemented at Plastotex production facilities is on the cutting edge, and the experience gained in the field since the early seventies make of Plastotex a world-leading company in the production of windproof materials.

Tekseries membrane fabrics are 100% windproof and are designed to meet the most strict requirements for windproof textiles.

Certifications

Air Permeability tests performed at Plastotex laboratory according to UNI EN ISO 9237 standard show that the rate of air flow passing through is equal to 0 litres/mm/sec*.

Rain and humidity are tough weather conditions for athletes to deal with, particularly in endurance sports: thanks to Plastotex production facilities, Tek Series technology developped fabrics with top quality characteristics, which make them perfect for any “wet” situation.

Cutting-edge fabrics have been developed by research laboratories at Plastotex, to offer athletes with materials which are suitable to any situation, with increasingly reduced weight and volume, to be kept in a pocket or to be worn easily.

Water column tests performed at Plastotex laboratories according to UNI EN ISO 5122 standard show that water column is greater than or equal to 10,000mm (10 metres)*.

One of the greatest strengths of Tek Series fabrics is breathability.

Tek Series membranes offer a level of breathability which is unique of its kind, provinding the perfect equipment to face even the harshest weather conditions.

Plastotex research laboratories can develop high breathable fabrics, which can be either waterproof, windproof or both.

Tek Series membranes are suitable for any temperature, and the experience Plastotex gained over time in the field of winter sports with Airtek materials was eventually trasferred to the world of endurance sports with excellent results.

Breathability tests performed at Plastotex laboratories according to ASTM E 96 BW standard show that the level of breathability achieved is equal to 11,000 g/m²/24hrs*.
